Fundraising

Sunset PTO is dedicated to supporting our school and enhancing the quality of education for all of our children. A large part of our mission is to provide additional funding for Sunset Elementary.

Each year, the PTO Board carefully reviews our fundraising goals, in collaboration with our school principal and faculty liaisons. Once we determine student needs for the year, funding is allocated based on these requests and the guiding principle that our PTO supports programs that benefit the entire student body at Sunset Elementary.

This year, we estimate our expenses to be approximately $150,000 -- roughly $200 per student.

Although we aim to expand programs each year, our primary purpose is to provide financial support for school-wide initiatives that are otherwise underfunded. Any contribution you make toward that effort is truly appreciated and we thank you for your continued support!

How we raise funds for our school

Regardless of your family considerations, we have plenty of opportunities to further invest in your child's education, including our annual check-writing campaign, fundraising events, spirit wear sales and partnerships with local and national businesses.

Corporate Donations are also a great way to maximize your family's contribution. Be sure to check with your employer to see if they have a matching program in place. Thank you for all your contributions to enriching the lives of our students!

	Annual INVEST IN YOUR CHILD CAMPAIGN Each school year kicks off with this annual "check-writing" campaign, which accounts for a significant portion of our revenue. It is also one of the most cost-effective ways for you to contribute to enhancing your child's education, since there are no program fees involved. 	SPIRIT WEAR Fridays and the first Wednesday of every month are Spirit Days at Sunset Elementary. Students are encouraged to show off their school spirit with logo wear for purchase in our Sunset Store. Sunset Spirit Store
	BIRTHDAY MARQUEE Display your child's name on our electronic marquee in front of the school. It's an awesome way to start the day! Please submit your request, along with payment, using the Birthday Marquee Request Form at least one week in advance. Same-day requests can not be accommodated. Marquee Request Form
	BACK TO SCHOOL YARD SIGN Order a Sign to Welcome your Student(s) to Sunset this year while helping raise funds for your school. Cost is $34.95 includes delivery and installation. Sunset gets $10 for every sign ordered. Purchase My Yard Sign
